- Article, 11 May 2012 | During the International Aids Conference in July in Washington the Universal Access to Female Condoms (UAFC) Joint Programme will attempt to break the Guinness World Record of longest chain of paper dolls. This is part of her Paper doll campaign, in which people from all over the world write their message on paper dolls explaining why they need female condoms. In order to break the record 30.000 dolls will be collected before and during the conference. Read more

- Article, 01 March 2012 | 'Abortion and young People in Rwanda' contains moving personal stories from people imprisoned for committing abortion in Rwanda. Stories from university students and from parents, as well as other relevant data on unsafe abortion in Rwanda that supports the call for legalising abortion and providing safe abortion services. The booklet is collected and compiled by the Youth Action Movement. Read more
- Article, 28 February 2012 | Rwandese (youth) organisations offered a position paper on safe abortion to their President in January 2012. This position paper was the outcome of a 6 months project that resulted in a two-days meeting of supporters and opponents of abortion. Rutgers WPF financed this project. Read more
- Article, 28 February 2012 | In January 2012 agreement was reached to use a Standard Set of Indicators and a System for Data collection under the project Y-SAV (Youth Sexual Aggression and Victimization). These indicators help us to assess the situation of all countries in Europe with regard to youth sexual violence simultaneously. Thus, we will be better able to compare countries among themselves. The next step will be to test the indicators and adapt the system if needed. Read more

- Article, 12 December 2011 | The book "Making female condoms available and accessible, a guide on implementing female condom programs" is an important and concrete result of the work of UAFC and its partners. This Implementation Guide represents the experiences, lessons learned, challenges and successes of the female condom programs of our colleagues in Cameroon, Nigeria, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. These programs are being implemented in very distinct contexts and have been adapted accordingly. Each program has generated new ideas and insights regarding what it means to conduct female condom programming successfully. Read more

A growing number of women and men in developing countries have a need for family planning and HIV prevention. The UAFC Joint Programme was set up to answer this growing need and make the female condom widely available. An added advantage of the female condom is that it is woman-initiated. Having more control over their own bodies and sexuality makes women less vulnerable. Read more
