- Article, 24 May 2012 | Following a South African project with the same name, on 21 May 2012 Rutgers WPF and Rifka Annisa launched the 'Toolkit for Men: Male Counselling in the context of partner violence' in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Representatives of the Indonesian government and public organisations attended the event. This is the thought behind the programme MenCare+, Engaging men in a 4-country initiative, carried out by Rutgers WPF in cooperation with Promundo, Sonke, Mosaic, and RWAMREC. Read more
- Press release, 30 November 2012 | Today Lilianne Ploumen, the new Dutch Minister of International Trade and Development Cooperation, announced that the innovative programme of Rutgers WPF and Promundo along with other partner NGOs – Sonke Gender Justice, Mosaic, Rifka Annisa, WCC Bengkulu, Alliansi Laki Laki Baru, and the Rwandan Men’s Resource Center will receive a € 8.6 million grant to engage men in gender equality for a period of three years (2013-2015). The MenCare programme aims to address the detrimental effects of inequitable social and cultural norms on men’s and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, including domestic violence, unplanned pregnancies and men’s (often) limited involvement in caregiving and unwanted pregnancies. This project is innovative in its focus on engaging men as caregivers and fathers, and as agents of change in achieving gender equality. Read more
