- Article, 19 March 2013 | Rutgers WPF initiated Y-SAV, “a European project to address youth sexual aggression and victimization in Europe”. The project builds a multidisciplinary network of European experts in various member states, brings together the knowledge on youth sexual aggression and victimization in a state-of-the-art database, develops a more harmonised way of measuring Y-SAV’s prevalence, and provides recommendations for strategic action to address the problem of youth sexual aggression under different circumstances in different EU member states. - Article, 30 November 2011 | The Toolkit for Men can be used for counselling abusers who want to stop intimate partner violence and become a more respectful partner. This toolkit was developed and piloted in South Africa and Indonesia by Rutgers WPF in partnership with 3 partner organisations in these countries. Read more
- Article, 24 May 2012 | Following a South African project with the same name, on 21 May 2012 Rutgers WPF and Rifka Annisa launched the 'Toolkit for Men: Male Counselling in the context of partner violence' in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Representatives of the Indonesian government and public organisations attended the event. This toolkit answers to the needs of a growing number of men to be actively involved in stopping violence against women. Read more
- News, 27 March 2013 | Everyone benefits when men are more involved as fathers and caring partners. The children feel better, relationships become more equal and a positive effect on everyone’s health is noted. This is the thought behind the programme MenCare+, Engaging men in a 4-country initiative, carried out by Rutgers WPF in cooperation with Promundo, Sonke, Mosaic, and RWAMREC. Read more

- Article, 28 November 2012 | Sexual aggression and victimisation occurs relatively often among European youth between the ages of 16 to 24 years. Y-SAV is a European project that reports on the situation in several European countries and assesses the policy that is aimed at tackling sexual aggression and victimisation among youth in Europe. - Press release, 30 November 2012 | Today Lilianne Ploumen, the new Dutch Minister of International Trade and Development Cooperation, announced that the innovative programme of Rutgers WPF and Promundo along with other partner NGOs – Sonke Gender Justice, Mosaic, Rifka Annisa, WCC Bengkulu, Alliansi Laki Laki Baru, and the Rwandan Men’s Resource Center will receive a € 8.6 million grant to engage men in gender equality for a period of three years (2013-2015). The MenCare programme aims to address the detrimental effects of inequitable social and cultural norms on men’s and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, including domestic violence, unplanned pregnancies and men’s (often) limited involvement in caregiving and unwanted pregnancies. This project is innovative in its focus on engaging men as caregivers and fathers, and as agents of change in achieving gender equality. Read more

- News, 13 September 2012 | Today the European Parliament adopted a directive which establishes a set of measures to strengthen victims’ rights in the European Union. The Directive acknowledges the existence of specific protection needs of victims of crimes committed with a bias or discriminatory motive related to their personal characteristics. These characteristics include sexual orientation, gender and gender identity or expression. Read more
