- Press release, 12 January 2011 | Bert Koenders has succeeded Melanie Schultz van Haegen as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rutgers WPF as of February 2011. On 1 January 2011 Rutgers WPF emerged as a result of the merger between Rutgers Nisso Groep (centre of expertise on sexuality) and World Population Foundation (WPF). Koenders said that this new organisation, Rutgers WPF, will continue an important Dutch tradition: making sexual health and rights a political priority in and outside the Netherlands. Read more
- Press release, 08 February 2011 | Providing lessons on relationships and sexuality in primary schools not only promotes knowledge, but also enhances pupils' assertiveness. This has been proven in an effect evaluation performed under the authority of Rutgers WPF and CPS [Educational Advice Centre] of two teaching packages used in upper primary school. This took place during the opening ceremony of the 20th World Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) in Glasgow. Rutgers WPF received the award because of its strong and comprehensive programmes in the area of sexual and relational education and the groundbreaking work it has achieved in supporting organisations in developing countries. - Article, 29 November 2011 | Can You Fix It? is a successful e-learning game that has been played by more than 100,000 adolescents in the Netherlands over the past year. It aims at preventing sexual transgressive behaviour by making adolescents aware of misunderstandings that occur between boys and girls and lets them experience a way they can communicate about boundaries. The game aims at enlarging their feeling of control and self-efficacy. Read more
