Rutgers WPF is a renowned centre of expertise on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Its activities are mainly carried out in the Netherlands, Africa and Asia. Its aim is to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights throughout the world. Rutgers WPF supports partner organisations and professionals in their work, increasing their expertise on sexuality.

- 10 February 2012 | Great News! On top of the annual grant of € 900,000 the Dutch Postcode Lottery has awarded Rutgers WPF an extra donation. Lovebuzz The Dutch Postcode Lottery has given Rutgers WPF a donation of € 1,9 million at the annual Charitable Capital Ceremony (Goed Geld Gala) in Amsterdam on 9 February 2012 in order to realise the Lovebuzz project. The Lovebuzz is a big truck that is going to be converted to a veritable mobile voyage of discovery, that will call in at schools all over the Netherlands. Pupils of pre-vocational secondary schools (vmbo) in the age of 12-14 years will playfully get to know about relationships and sexuality and discuss this among themselves. Learning more with the help of your mobile phone The Dutch Postcode Lottery also awarded € 1.7 million to AMREF and Rutgers WPF for the development of an M-Learning programme for midwives in Africa. The programme offers nurses and midwives in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania the opportunity to develop professionally and to keep their medical knowledge up to date. - 06 June 2011 | Rutgers WPF received the Award for Excellence & Innovation in Sexuality Education 2011 on 12 June 2011. This took place during the opening ceremony of the 20th World Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) in Glasgow. Rutgers WPF received the award because of its strong and comprehensive programmes in the area of sexual and relational education and the groundbreaking work it has achieved in supporting organisations in developing countries.
- 31 May 2011 | At the UN, Mrs. Maria da Luz Dai Guebuza, the First Lady of Mozambique pleaded for a better availability of female condoms worldwide. She did so by writing her statement on Zawadi, one of many paper dolls. From all over the world these paper dolls came to New York, with statements from men and women asking for female condoms. Afterwards Zawadi flew to the Netherlands. There she, and many more dolls from around the globe, presented them at the UAFC conference on female condoms in November of this year.
